Woven labels have the design woven directly into the fabric using colored threads. Printed labels have the design printed onto a fabric surface using ink. They can reproduce unlimited colors, photographic detail, and complex gradients that weaving cannot achieve. Woven Label Design Tips
When creating a woven label let your creativity flow! We can accomodate almost any design and up to 8 colors. If you're not a graphic designer with finished artwork, simply submit your logo and our team will help finalize your design. In the meantime, here are some helpful woven label design tips:- • Start by determining your woven label size. For a shirt collar, consider a 2.75" x 1" center fold or a 3" x .75" end fold. For a t-shirt hem tag, consider a 2.75" x 1" manhattan fold. It can help to reference the clothing in your closet to determine your desired size. Our team is also available to discuss your design and make a recommendation. Just remember to enter the complete, unfolded size when placing your order.
- • Keep your text above 5pt. It can be difficult to render very small text under 5pt on a woven label using thread. This is particularly true for serif or script fonts. If the text on your label is small, consider adding a sample photo to your order.
- • Leave sewing margin for areas that will be sewn down or inserted into a seam. This ensures a smooth integration into your garments. We recommend a 1/8" margin along the edge if sewing down flat. For labels to be inserted into a seam, include a 1/4" tab of extra material.

We use an ultra-fine 50 denier polyester thread, over 30% finer than standard 80 denier woven labels commonly found elsewhere. Combined with modern digitizing software and looms, we're able to achieve the most accurate translation of your artwork. All woven labels are finished using an ultrasonic knife for soft edges that wont fray and remain gentle on the skin. Your labels will arrive neatly stacked and ready for application.
Applying Woven Labels
We always reccommend sewing woven labels on clothing when possible. Sewing is the only application method sure to last the lifetime of your garment. Woven labels are either sewin into a seam (center fold, loop fold, mitre fold), sewn down along the edges (straight cut, end fold) or wrapped around the fabric edge and sewn at the top (manhattan fold, bookcover fold). Peel & Stick Labels
Iron on woven labels provide a quick and convenient solution for labeling various fabrics without the need for sewing. They adhere well to flat materials such as cotton and polyester, where the label can make full contact with the surface. Iron-on backing is considered a permanent adhesive and will lasts through multiple washes. Easily apply with a heat press or at home iron, requiring a temperature of 325° or medium cotton setting with no steam. Press firmly for 15 to 20 seconds and let cool completely to ensure a secure attachment.Peel and stick woven labels are essentialy fully customizable fabric stickers. The adhesive works well on any flat fabric where sufficient surface contact can be achieved. They can be used at events or for holding labels in place while sewing. Like most stickers, peel and stick clothing labels applied to fabric only last temporarily and may start to peel after multiple washes.
